Introduction to Eureka

Eureka refers to the series of instanced zones added in the Stormblood expansion, not the be confused with Deep Dungeon: Eureka Orthos added in Endwalker. These open world areas are designed to bring back the classic MMO feel of challenging exploration and battle.

Eureka zones featurte their own set of mechanics and rules that are separate from the rest of the overworld in Final Fantasy XIV. For example, players must gain elemental experienceElemental Experience points by defeating enemies which allows them to level up and access newer areas with stronger enemies and bosses.

The Eureka quest chain is tied to the Stormblood Relic weapons for combat classes so you will need to have an understanding of how to progress through the Eureka zones if you plan on obtaining a relic weapon.

Elemental EXP Boosts, Potions & Bonuses

Because the leveling system in Eureka is separate to the rest of the overworld, there are a number of buffs, items and gear that you should be aware of before entering Eureka. You are also free to change your Class at any time to deal with different situations as your Elemental Level will be retained.

Eurekan Potions

eurekan potionEurekan Potion is a restorative item that will gradually restore HP for 40s and has a recast of 45s.

These can be purchased from the Expedition Provisioner for gil300 gil each.

Potion of Harmony (+10% Elemental EXP)

potion of harmonyPotion of Harmony grants a 10% boost to elemental experienceElemental Experience points that lasts for 60m (90m if HQ).

These can be crafted or bought from the Market Board.

Chain Bonuses

Defeating consecutive monsters begins a Chain Bonus which grants increased elemental experienceElemental EXP and an enhanced drop rate.

Eureka Anemos

Eureka Anemos is the first zone that you will be traversing. To unlock Eureka Anemos and begin the Eureka quest chain, you will need to speak to Galiena in Rhalgr's Reach (X: 9.8 Y: 12.5) and complete the quest feature questAnd We Shall Call it Eureka.

Once complete, you'll now be able to speak to Rodney near the Pier #1 Aethernet Shard in Kugane (X: 8.5 Y: 14.2) to travel to enter Eureka Anemos.

Upon entering, you will see Krile with a quest marker – speak to her and then speak to the subsequent NPC's with quest markers for an explanation of the Elemental system. Affix your first Magicite to the Lightning element to begin with.

After speaking with Krile again, you'll be able to enter Eureka Anemos to fight monsters and level up. Remember to attune with the Aethernet Shard in the starting area.

Elemental Affinities

You're able to change your Elemental affinity at any time provided that you still have magia aether remaining. Magia aether will recover over time when consumed. ffxivgillionaire ffxivbahamut ffxiv eureka anemos elemental

Having the same elemental affinity as an enemy with decrease damage receive while having an advantageous elemental affinity will increase damage dealt to the enemy.ffxivgillionaire ffxivbahamut ffxiv eureka anemos elemental weakness

Every enemy will have their elemental affinity displayed next to their name, you can right click the enemy's HP bar in your UI to automatically switch your Element to have an offensive or defensive advantage against the enemy.ffxivgillionaire ffxivbahamut ffxiv eureka anemos elemental weakness right click

You can use the following chat commands to automate the Magia system:

  • /magiaauto atkAutomatically spin the magia board to match the elemental weakness of current target.
  • /magiaauto def – Automatically spin the magia board to match the elemental affinity of current target.
  • /magiaauto offDisable automatic spinning.

As a general rule, you'll want to stick to monsters that are at your level or above, but never more than five levels above your own elemental level. Ultimately, your goal is to level up and work through the Eureka quest line.

You can use the notorious monsterNotorious Monsters spawn table for guidance on which monsters to grind for levelling up.

The Eureka Tracker provides full detailed maps allowing you to see the locations of all enemies and their affinities, the Eureka Bestiary can also help you search for the correct monster at your level. These will be indispensable tools in helping you level up smoothly.

The recommended Logos Actions when running solo are geared towards survivability, which will also allow you to pull more mobs at once. If you're running in a party, it is wiser to use Logos Actions that buff your damage dealt if there is a dedicated Tank.

You can equip and consume the spirit of the rememberedSpirit of the Remembered Logos Action that will grant a one-time resurrection buff for 180 minutes without taking a Logos Action slot.
